Culpeper Scholars

The Charles E. Culpeper Scholarships in Medical Science, established in 1988, nurture the career development of exceptionally promising physician scientists as they transition to independent researchers at the best academic medical centers. Over the last 20 years, these “young physician-scientist” awards totaling almost $20 million have supported innovative research at 59 institutions.

Candidates apply through the medical schools with which they are affiliated; each institution nominates only one individual. Applications are reviewed by a panel of outstanding medical scientists. Final decisions are made by Partnership for Cures.

The Culpeper Scholars Program is currently on hold.  We are not accepting applications in 2008 for scholars that would begin in July 2009.  Please check back in the late summer for an update.
