Partnership for Cures (PFC) created the Two Years To Cures Initiative to bring researchers, funders and institutions together to produce better treatments and cures for patients with disease right now.
An incredible amount of scientific knowledge, technology and research skill exists that could impact patients. We know scientists have the ideas. Partnership for Cures and its funders bring the inspiration, financial support and business management to support creative researchers to speed better treatments and cures to patients ASAP.
For example, two years ago a researcher thought a new discovery predicted that an already FDA approved drug (Rapamycin) might provide a treatment for kids with a rare fatal blood disease (ALPS.) No one would fund him. PFC funders made this miracle happen, financing research that proved the drug was a safe and inexpensive treatment that could create a good quality life and the chance for these kids to live an almost normal existence.
The Two Years To Cures Initiative works by quickly bringing together:
-
Breakthrough scientific discoveries about diseases and treatments
-
FDA approved drugs and other medical therapies (Eastern and Western) with new potential uses
-
Research teams at top institutions ready to proceed with urgency and focus
-
Independent validation, compressed timelines, and financial leverage
Government, academia, industry and large disease based non-profits play a vital role training researchers, uncovering new knowledge, and developing new drugs and technology but their structures and missions do not make it possible for them to combine these resources and drive them to impact patients quickly.
The Two Years To Cures Initiative is specifically structured to drive results to patients with disease immediately. We engage the following partners to produce research that will directly impact patients in two years or less:
-
Creative researchers with ideas we can test quickly to produce better treatments and cures
-
Passionate funders determined to impact the lives of those who are suffering
-
Independent scientists who validate, rank and follow the research
-
Premier research institutions that financially support these critical projects
-
Hopeful patients and clinicians who provide real life insights and participate in the research
We need your research ideas NOW!
We’ll put the other pieces in place.
Your ideas can speed better treatments and cures to
those waiting too patiently for too long!
