Participate in our growing organization and make a difference

Our Action Board is comprised of Chicago area
business 
men and women age 21-35

The Partnership for Cures Action Board

  • Is comprosed of energetic members who work together to accomplish specific and timely goals 
  • Raises funds and awareness for Rediscovery Research. 
  • Creates at least one fundraising event each year, focused on a research project of their choice. 
  • Raises awareness of Rediscovery Research through social media, supporting our Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media outlets. 
  • Reports to and works with the President and the Board chair of Partnership for Cures.
  • Has subcommittees that meet as necessary to support their plans and the full board will meet quarterly.
  • Has a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. 
  • The Chair of the Action Board is a non-voting representative on the Executive Board.
  • Has members who make an annual financial or in kind gift.
  • Members serve 2 year renewable terms.

Edward Walker

Edward Walker - Chair, Action Advisory Board

Edward Walker is engaged with client development and management of the administration of their risk and insurance services at Marsh and MacLennan. He earned his BA in Economics and Psychology from the University of Michigan, and is a member of Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and Financial Executives International. Prior to joining Marsh in 2010 he had gained experience and a large book of business working in the personal insurance market. Now working with commercial line insurance Edward has created dialogue and rapport with several of Marsh’s prospects. Edward’s industry expertise allows him to identify risk exposures relevant to the selected industry while utilizing Marsh’s benchmarking capabilities in order to bring companies a more personalized risk consulting process.

Edward is the Chair of the Partnership for Cures Action Board, compromised of young professionals that actively engage in supporting and raising awareness and funding for Rediscovery Research.


Lauren

Lauren White - Chair, Events

Lauren is a native Chicagoan who grew up in the western suburb of River Forest. She graduated from Oak Park and River Forest High School, and is currently attending Lewis University obtaining her Bachelors of Arts in Healthcare Leadership. She is currently a Resident Manager for The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. Lauren enjoys spending quality time with her friends and families, shopping, photography, trying different cuisines, and traveling.

John Stroud - Chair, IT

John Stroud is a participant in the latest CCT training program. He assist with day-to-day administrative and IT related work here at P4Cures which reinforces his professional development, and training as a student enrolled in Illinois Institute of Technology's Web Development Program. He earned a BA degree in Bus. Management & Finance and has working experience in banking operations and financial services.

 

Syed

Syed Ahmed - Chair, Science

Syed Ahmed serves as Science Chair for Partnership for Cures (Action Board) and is a student in the Clinical Research and Regulatory Administration Masters program at Northwestern University.

Syed currently works as a Clinical Research Associate, and has been an active volunteer with various Chicagoland organizations. He brings a broad background in medical research and pharmaceutical marketing, and is also a big outdoor sports & adventure enthusiast. If you are planning on going whitewater rafting or skydiving, be sure to ask him about his experience(s).
